Penny White,
Cathy Warner, Tim Farmer and
Lynne Jones are our Primary
Care Nurses.
They work
alongside the duty doctor of
the day as part of the Duty
Team. Patients requesting
emergency appointments are
assessed by a member of the
Duty Team and offered either
telephone advice or an
appropriate appointment.
Many emergency appointments
are with one of the Primary
Care Nurses who are trained
to deal with minor illnesses
and can obtain appropriate
prescriptions for their
patients. Three of our Primary
Care Nurses are Nurse
Prescribers and can generate
and sign their own
prescriptions.
Julie Hill and Julie Harber
are our practice nurses and
are available for
consultation by appointment
Monday to Friday. They can
help with dressings,
injections, ear syringing,
blood tests, blood pressure
checks, urine testing and
cervical smears. In addition
they also run several
clinics including child
immunisations and travel
clinics.
Our chronic disease
management nurses are Di
Shipp, Lynne Jones, Cathy
Warner and Tim Farmer. Di
and Lynne run the diabetic
clinics. Di also runs the
coronary heart disease
clinic and the respiratory
clinic. Tim looks after our
hypertensive patients and
Cathy runs the asthma
clinic. Penny and Julie offer family planning appointments and
are available to discuss
issues relating to family
planning and sexual health.
Debbie, Jo, Becks, Amy and
Becky are our health
care assistants. They do
blood tests, ECGs,
dressings, blood pressure
checks, new patient and
carer health checks by
appointment.
