Apology and Learning from our Recent Vaccination Clinic
We would like to sincerely apologise to patients who experienced long waits and discomfort during our flu/covid vaccination clinic on Saturday 4th October. Unfortunately, the poor weather on the day made this even more difficult for those waiting outside, and we are very sorry for the inconvenience caused.
Our team works tirelessly to ensure patients are vaccinated safely, efficiently and in a timely manner. However, we recognise that this clinic did not run as smoothly as planned, and we should have done better.
There were several factors that contributed to the delays:
- Many patients arrived significantly earlier than their appointment time, despite our requests not to, which led to queues and disruption to the schedule.
- The government’s recent change to COVID vaccination eligibility created longer consultations, as patients understandably had questions about their personal circumstances.
- At times, there were not enough staff available to support patients while waiting outside, and communication about delays could have been clearer.
We are grateful to those who have taken the time to share their feedback, which helps us to learn and improve. For future clinics, we will ensure:
- A visible staff presence to support patients while queueing, especially those with additional needs.
- Clearer communication with patients if delays occur.
We truly value the patience and understanding of our community and remain committed to providing the best possible care. Thank you for working with us as we continue to learn and improve.
